|While innovation, development, and state-of-the-art facilities are crucial in
being one of the leaders in the overhead door manufacturing industry, the
project management, field checks, and installation are just as critical.
Poor PM leads to a rush in ordering, and can cause oversight, or a lack of
thoroughness in ensuring the right product for the right application. Poor
field checks can lead to incorrect clearance conditions, field modifications,
improper installations, At best, you now are still left with your product being
last touched by an installer. In Southern California, as well as around the
United States(per Door & Operator Magazine), it is common for the door to be
installed at the wrong location by an installer, or by an installer that either
cannot read the instructions, or read a tape measure. We have been on
countless jobs to diagnose problems. We have seen doors with "tip-to-tip"
dimensions off by more than an inch, we have seen barrels for coiling doors
installed backwards and the brackets installed upside down, with notches
made for the door to travel past. We have seen doors with compound
tension wheels with "0" turns of tension on the spring because of a lack of
understanding of how to properly add tension. We have even seen door
installers try to raise 40' x 16' tall curtains using lift equipment that will only
go 14' high.
WCD does not claim to be perfect, however, we realize the importance of
installing your product exactly as you have required. We hold multiple
certifications for various product installations.
